Client Name: The Ridgefield Playhouse
Designed in 1938, the auditorium of this existing high school was at one time the center of Ridgefield, Connecticut’s cultural life. Before being abandoned in 1972, it was home to school performances as well as community events and town meetings. In its new life, The Ridgefield Playhouse has been designed to embrace its former role and more. The interior preserves the hall's acoustics that make it an ideal venue for musical performance and live theater.
The renovation of the 25,000 square foot interior to create a new Performing Arts and Movie Theatre included new seating, acoustical draperies, lighting, projector room, sound system, customized hand painted murals, concession stand, and handicap accessible entry and toilet facilities.
